Storm Damage Repair in Franklin

Storm Damage Repair for Franklin homes

Franklin pairs a historic downtown and older streets with large newer subdivisions, so roofs here range from century-old homes to houses on their first set of shingles. When spring storms move through Franklin, we see wind-lifted shingles, hail-bruised slopes and branches through roofs on tree-lined streets. We tarp what's open first, then document the damage with photos for your insurance claim.

What's included

Wind, hail and fallen-tree damage inspected, documented with photos and made watertight. Depending on your roof, the work can include:

• Damage inspection
• Photo documentation
• Temporary protection
• Permanent repairs
• Related exterior damage
• Stay safe.
• Limit interior damage.
• Take your own photos.
• Call your insurer and a roofer.

Full details, how the work runs and common questions are on our main storm damage repair page.

Local conditions in Franklin

Mature trees along Franklin's established streets drop branches in summer storms and fill gutters every fall, and hail can bruise shingles without leaving obvious leaks. That makes chimneys, valleys, ridge caps and roof edges the most common repair spots we see in the city.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for storm damage repair in Franklin, get clear answers to these before signing:

• Can you provide dated photos and a written description of the damage?
• How will you protect the roof from water until permanent repairs are done?
• Is the damage repairable or does it justify a replacement?
• Is your price the same whether or not I make an insurance claim?

Permits and approvals

Building permits in Franklin are handled by the City of Franklin. Replacing shingles with similar materials often doesn't need a permit, but structural repairs, new roof framing and new skylight openings generally do, and homes in Franklin's historic districts may need design approval for exterior changes. We confirm what applies to your project during planning.
